How to Program my new SOS NFC Tag

These are the step-by-step instructions for how to program your new SOS NFC Tag with your own personal information. This tag comes password protected for an added security feature and has been previously programmed to bring you to this page. Please follow each step carefully and you will have your NFC tag programmed in just a handful of simple steps.

1.

Purchase SOS NFC Tag

Thank you for your SOS NFC Keychain purchase. We hope you never need it, but a just in case is always worth having.

Go to Google Play Store

If you own an Android phone, open your Google Play application and download the NFC Tools application.

Go to the Apple Store

If you own an Apple I-phone, open your Apple Store Application and download the NFC Tools application.

Search for NFC Tools

Search your application store for the NFC Tools application. The logo should look like the image above.

Open the NFC Tools App.

Once your application has downloaded, open the NFC Tools app.

Once application opens

 Your screen should look like the image above. Take your new SOS Tag and tap it to the back of your NFC enabled device.

In the "READ" tab, you will see the preexisting record that has been programmed and 'Protected by password"

We are going to erase this record.

TapToRemovePasscode

Tap Tag to Remove

Tap the NFC Tag to the back of your NFC enabled device to erase the existing password.

Tap Tag to Erase

Tap the NFC Tag to the back of your NFC enabled device to erase the tag.

ScrollToEmergency

Scroll down to "Emergency"

Scroll down and tap "Emergency" to begin entering your SOS information.

GoToOtherTab

Remove Password

Go to the "OTHER" tab and tap on the "Remove password" option.

EnterPasscode

Enter Password 

In the Remove password dialogue box, enter the password "2532" as shown above.

Removed Successfully

This screen confirms that you have successfully removed the password. Click "OK"

GoToOtherTab

Erase existing record

Go to the "OTHER" tab and tap on the "Erase tag" option.

This screen confirms that you have successfully erased the tag. Click "OK"

EnterData

Enter your information

Enter all the information you wish to appear when your SOS NFC Tag is tapped and tap "OK"

GoToWriteTab

Write new Record

Go to the "WRITE" tab and tap on the "Add a record".

Confirm your information

Check that all the information that you have entered is correct. If it is to your liking, tap the "Write/255 Bytes" option.

Write Successful

Tap to confirm functionality

Tap the NFC Tag to the back of your NFC enabled device to write your information to the tag.

This screen confirms that you have successfully written to the tag. Click "OK"

You will most likely not be able to read your own tag. Therefore, have a friend or loved one tap your SOS NFC Tag to confirm it is functioning properly. It should look like the image above

That is it! Your tag should be programmed.

The following steps are if you choose to lock your SOS Tag to prevent any accidental or mischievous changes. It is recommended that you take these extras steps to prevent unauthorized changes to your pertinent information.

Lock your SOS NFC Tag

Go back to your NFC Tools Application. Go to the "OTHER" tab and tap on the "Set password" option.

Set password warning

Your SOS NFC tag will not be able to be changed or edited without this password!

YourNewPassword

Enter your new password

Enter your new password and select "OK"

PasswordProtected

Confirm your SOS NFC Tag

Go to the "READ" tab and confirm that your tag is "Protected by password" and that your "Records 1-8" are correct.

Congratulations! Your SOS NFC Tag has been programmed and password protected  sucessfully!
